Minerva Academy FC increases the count of stars winning the Gothia Cup 2023
After celebrating their glorious campaign Gothia Cup which ended in a notable victory, Minerva Academy FC have announced the addition of a second star in their crest. The second star commemorates their victory in Sweden. Gothia Cup is their second international trophy after winning the Mina Cup in UAE last year.
“Rising as Champions! Our new logo now proudly holds one more star, commemorating our victorious journey to become World Champions. Two stars to represent our two international trophies which we have won in the last two years!” Minerva Academy FC shared in the caption via their social media posts.
The young warriors traveled to Sweden for their participation in the mega tournament of the U-13 category as they met their quality opponents from the top footballing countries in the world.
The tournament becomes a memorable one for the academy, not only for winning the coveted trophy. But also for taking down the academies and youth clubs from Sweden, Estonia, Spain, Norway, and Brazil in the very same tournament.
The team scored 43 goals in the competition and conceded only one goal. This makes them one of the highest goalscoring teams in the tournament and one of the strongest defence as well.
The Gothia Cup 2023 is the second international trophy for the Minerva Academy. Last time the academy won the Mina Cup 2022 in UAE which was their first international trophy in youth football.
The Minerva Academy won the Gothia Cup 2023 final following an astonishing 3-1 win against the Brazilian youth football club Ordin FC in the U-13 Category.
