Kalyan Chaubey, the President of AIFF stated that there is a requirement for one coach who can lead Indian football and therefore initiate its holistic progress. With the advertisement for the Senior National Men’s Team Head Coach having been released by AIFF, it has created quite a stir.
Over a month later, with the applications closing on Wednesday July 3rd 2024 they have globally received 291 of them. And among the applicants, there are 100 UEFA Pro License diploma holders, while another 20 have AFC Pro License diplomas and three with CONMEBOL licenses.
The AIFF will then read all of the applications and select only those who would be suitable for such high profile job.

Speaking on these lines, Mr. Kalyan Chaubey, the President of AIFF mentioned:
“We have received a massive response from all prospective bidders with some premier names having shown interest to India. With the focus moving to writing a new chapter of Indian Football, it is critical we have someone who shall do justice to us. Our culture from Indian football and out philosophy in the design of our national football. By the end of July we are hoping that we get somebody on board, so India can play in September’s FIFA window.”
Following that, we set up a committee under AIFF Vice President Mr. NA Haris (Chairpersons of the Committee of Technical, League Competitions, Finance -Development and -Treasurer) While the earlier will scrutinze all applications to make a brief list for consideration of the Executive Committee,” Mr. Chaubey added.
