Minerva Academy FC made their debut in Gothia Cup 2023 as they managed to topped the group stage against strong European sides.
The World Cup Batch 2034 of Minerva Academy FC is all the way travelled to Sweden for the participation of Gothia Cup 2023.
Gothia Cup is an international youth football tournamemt organized by Swedish professional football club BK Hacken and it is hosted in the city of Gothenburg, this tournament created many football legends such as Zlatan Ibrahamovic and Xabi Alonso, the tournament was found in 1975. There are 1878 teams are fighting for the trophy from 69 different countries around the world.
Minerva Academy FC is one of the seven teams from India are playing in the tournament in which academy categorized into U13 team. The Academy are clubbed along with BK Olimpic White and IK Sleipner Blue from Sweden and FC Infonet Tallinn from Estonia in Group 38.
Minerva Academy FC topped the group with 9 points by winning all the three games and scored a whooping 18 goals, and they started their campaign on a winning note against the Swedish side BK Olimpic White by 3-0, then a 4-0 affair against the Estonian side FC Infonet Tallinn and finished the group stage by thrashing IK Sleipner Blue on a 12-0 match. The Minerva Academy are qualified for Gothia Cup 2023 Round of 32.
