CD Castellon eye Chhangte for their attack

Game-Changing Move? Chhangte was the Golden Boot winner last season

As per Spanish Football reporter Paco Xixidro, CD Castellon FC is actively negotiating with Mumbai City FC for the acquisition of Lallianzuala Chhangte.

However, Marcus Mergulhao has poured cold water on the speculations surrounding Chhangte’s potential move to CD Castellon FC. His skepticism questions the validity of the ongoing negotiations and casting doubt on the feasibility of the deal.

Despite the reported transfer fee of around 2.3 Million Euros, plus additional variables, Marcus has cautioned against premature excitement. He has stressed that the information available indicates a low probability of the transfer materializing. Dampening the hopes of fans who had eagerly anticipated Chhangte’s potential trip to Europe.

CD Castellón currently ply their trades in the Primera Federación, which is the third tier of Spanish League Football. After finishing third in Group 2, they qualified for the promotion playoffs where they fell one short to AD Alcorcón in the final. The ambition for the next season would be to secure promotion to LaLiga 2 or the Segunda division.

Ever since joining Mumbai City FC, Chhangte has had a profound nack of scoring. In the ISL last season, he was awarded the Golden Boot with 10 goals and 8 assists.
