Chennaiyin FC Welcomes Argentinian Maestro: Cristian Battocchio Joins the Squad
Chennaiyin FC has clinched the signing of Cristian Battocchio, marking their fourth foreign acquisition for the upcoming season.
Battocchio has already joined the team in Guwahati and could potentially be considered for the squad ahead of the Durand Cup quarter-finals.
“I’m very happy. I was waiting for the day that I come to India. I feel really good because the club and the coach wanted me here.”
Expressing his enthusiasm, Argentina-born Battocchio shared,
Battocchio embarked on his European career with Serie A’s Udinese in 2009, where he rose from the youth ranks to make three appearances in the UEFA Europa League. He then moved to Watford in 2012, amassing 66 appearances in the Championship and FA Cup, accompanied by seven goals and five assists.
