The Indian Senior Women’s Team Head Coach Thomas Dennerby names the 22-woman squad for the Asian Games 2023 Hanghzhou.
Indian Senior Women’s Team are preparing for the Asian Games 2023 Hangzhou, the blue tigresses ranked in 61st position in the recent FIFA rankings.
The team will travel to China for their participation in the Asian Games 2023, they are going to face Thailand and Chinese Taipei in the Group B.
17 teams in Asia are going to represent their country in the tournament, which has been divided into five groups in this edition. Group A, B, and C have three teams and Group D and E have four teams in their respective groups.
The five group winners and three best second-placed teams will qualify for the quarter-finals.
Thailand Women’s Team is a strong opponent in the tournament as both the teams met each other in Thailand twice and won both., and defeated Chinese Taipei on 2022 by 1-0.
This will be their third participation in the Asian Games, They made their first appearance in the 1998 Asian Games, after 16 years the team participated in the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea.
This tournament will be important for the Blues Tigresses in their preparation for the AFC Paris Olympics Qualifiers 2023 also it is much more important for them to give a comeback in the continent after a long time.
Igor Stimac named 22-men’s squad for the Asian Games 2023 men’s tournament, Sunil Chhetri, Sandesh Jhinghan and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu lead the U23 squad to the glory.
Indian Men’s Football Team will travel to Hangzhou, and face host China PR, Myanmar and Bangladesh in Group A.
This will be their 18th appearance in the continental tournament, earlier the tournament was treated as a Senior team event, but in 2002 the tournament was turned into the U23 squad.
India in Asian Games is one of the glorious moments in Indian Football History has the national team won 2 Gold medals(1951 & 1962). Bronze medal in (1970) and finished fourth in (1958).
