KBFC win 8-0 in their first preseason game, brace from Rahul-Bidyashagar

Hormipam Ruivah donned the captain’s armband amidst rumours of leaving KBFC

In their first game back, Kerala Blasters FC (KBFC) secured a thumping 8-0 victory over Maharajas College. The game kicked off at 16:00 IST at Panampilly Nagar Ground. It took place behind closed doors.

Blasters started with a lot of youngsters. Sachin Suresh started in the goal; the centre-back duo of Bijoy and Hormipam was flanked by the newcomers Naocha Singh and Prabir Das on the respective flanks. Bidyashagar Singh and Ajsal started upfront. Justine Emmanuel, KBFC’s mysterious foreigner, was the only overseas to player start for the team. He was assisted in the midfield by Azhar, Yoheinba, and Bryce Miranda.

The first half ended in 4-0 advantage for the Blasters – with two goals from Bijoy and Bidya each.

Eleven changes were made in the second half. Blasters fielded a strong XI to end the scoreline 8-0.

Blasters started the game in the 4-4-2 formation, with focus on the pressing game. Rahul, Bidya and Bijoy scored a brace each. While Diamantakos and Luna bagged one.

Bengaluru FC goalkeeper Lara Sharma was seen in the pre-match training. It has already been reported that the keeper has been signed on a season-long loan by KBFC. The deal isn’t announced yet but it will be announced soon.
