Kovalam FC retain their colours from the last season. However, with a fresh look.
Kerala Premier League outfit Kovalam FC have announced their official kits for the 2023-24 season. Their home jersey was revealed by Federal Bank’s Raju Hormis Tharakan at Ernakulam. The home kit is predominantly white with green sleeves. Federal Bank will occupy the middle as the title sponsor.
Kovalam FC’s away kit has Navy Blue throughout the main body of the kit. On the sleeves, the typical sea blue colour along with white lines show the topographic texture of sea lines. And in the main body of the home kit, there is a lighter version of blue showing the ‘Light house’ with a ‘Beach’ which is the main attraction of the city. Also, the club’s crest is shown around the white circle which distinguishes the club’s crest from the kit.
Kovalam FC has been competing in the Kerala Premier League since the 2018-19 season. But the club was founded in 2009 by Ebin Rose, a part of the victorious Kerala team in 1973 and head coach of the club along with PJ Mathew, an ex-army man and footballer. The club also have its unique recognition in state football as they are the first from Kerala to participate in the U15 I-League.
They are also the first club in Kerala to have their own stadium and a residential academy. The residential academy was founded in 2018 but it wasn’t fully functional until 2020. They have their home stadium at M.V. Higher School, Arunmanoor.
The 2022-23 season of Kerala Premier League was the best season so far for the Kovalam-based club as they reached till semi-finals. Where they lost to the Gokulam Kerala B squad on a 4-0 aggregate over the two legs. The tournament eventually was won by Kerala United FC.
