Liston refuses to leave Mohun Bagan Super Giant
Liston Colaco, the young superstar of Indian Football is here to stay at Mohun Bagan Super Giant. During the transfer window, the rumour of Liston Colaco joining the Juggernauts from Odisha was causing a lot of smoke. The young baller who joined the Mariners from Hyderabad FC in 2021 has been instrumental for the oldest club in Asia. Liston scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 65 matches across competitions.
However, there was a dip in Liston Colaco’s form for a brief period. But it seems like he is getting his Midas touch back from what we can perceive from his Durand Cup 2023 and AFC Cup. He was a live wire on the left flank in the match against Abahani Dhaka Limited. Liston Colaco is a versatile attacker who can play anywhere in the attack making him a hot property in the market. He possesses the ability to create ‘golazos’ out of nowhere. He has directly contributed to 48 goals in his senior professional career.
Sergio Lobera planning a reunion
Odisha FC who will be led by one of the best managers in the history of ISL, Sergio Lobera are building a strong squad this season. They have Reinforced some of the old apprentices of Mr.Lobera at the club like Ahmed Jahouh, Mourtada Fall, and Amey Ranawade. Having worked with Liston Colaco at FC Goa, Sergio Lobera is aware of the Goan attacker. However, Liston is an important player in the creative department of the Mohun Bagan Super Giant.
The Mohun Bagan coach Juan Ferrando has faith in Liston and is reluctant to sell him to any other club. One factor also being Odisha FC directly being Mohun Bagan’s opponent in the AFC Cup 2023-24 which is a dream project for the owner of the club, Dr.Sanjeev Goenka and sending Liston to Odisha will only lead to an increase in the quality of the opposition on the other hand decreasing their own.
Liston will be part of a very ambitious project of winning the AFC Cup this season with Mohun Bagan Super Giant. He will be an important player in creating goal-scoring opportunities for Armando Sadiku and Jason Cummings along with Hugo Boumous and Sahal Abdul Samad.
