Goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu started his football career with East Bengal in 2009. Gurpreet came to Pailan Arrows from East Bengal on a loan basis in 2010 and played for a year.
Meanwhile, Gurpreet also played for the Indian U19 and U23 teams. Finally, in 2011, he made his international debut.
Gurpreet later returned to East Bengal after a loan spell with Pailon Arrows and played 44 matches for East Bengal till 2014.
In 2014, Gurupreet joined Norwegian club Stabaek after performing in East Bengal. Gurpreet played for Stabaek till 2017.
2011 Super Cup, 2012 Federation Cup, 3 Calcutta Football League Cup(2011,2012-13,2013-14), and 2012 IFA Shield are all the achievements of Gurpreet with East Bengal from 2009 to 2014.
Finally returning to India in 2017 with Bengaluru FC, Gurpreet played over 100 matches for Bengaluru from 2017 to this past ISL(Indian Super League) season. Gurupreet’s achievements with Bengaluru FC include Super Cup in 2018, ISL Trophy in 2018-19, and Durand Cup in 2022.
Gurpreet, who played 62 matches for the Indian Senior team, has won 4 SAFF Championships (2011,2015,2021,2023), 2 Intercontinental Cups (2018,2023), and a Tri-Nation Series in 2023.
He is a star who won the Arjuna Award in 2019, 2 ISL Golden Gloves (2018,2019-20), and Tri-Nation Series Golden Glove in 2023.
Gurpreet was one of the players who played a major role in Bengaluru FC reaching 3 finals in 2022-23.
The 6’6″ tall keeper is a consistently faithful goalkeeper for Bengaluru FC and the Indian Football team.
