Lallianzuala Chhangte started his football career in 2014 for DSK Shivajians. He scored 1 goal in 17 games for DSK Shivajians in the I-League. In 2016, he joined Indian Super League (ISL) Club North East United FC on a loan basis. Started for North East in ISL but didn’t get off to a good start and eventually returned to Shivajians after a loan stint.
Meanwhile, he started his National Career in 2015. Chhangte was a participant when India won the SAFF Championship in 2015.
He later moved to ISL club Delhi Dynamos FC in 2017. Where he played two seasons, scoring 8 goals and 5 assists in 40 games.
Finally, the best of Delhi comes to Chennaiyin FC in 2019. Chhangte, who performed well for Chennaiyin FC, is becoming a favorite of Chennai fans. He played 3 seasons for Chennai and scored 12 goals and 4 assists in 53 games.
Chhangte joins Mumbai City FC from Chennaiyin FC on loan in the January transfer window in 2022.
He played in the 2022 Durand Cup for Mumbai City FC and became the top scorer with 7 goals. Chhangte was one of the players who played a key role in Mumbai City FC reaching the Final in that Durand Cup. He also made his debut for Mumbai in the AFC Champions League. With a good performance in Mumbai in 2022, he signed a permanent contract in Mumbai.
Chhangte, who played the ISL 2022-23 Season with Mumbai City FC, won the ISL Golden Ball Award with 10 goals and 6 assists in 22 appearances.
Chhangte was a key player in India winning the Terble title (Tri-Nations Cup, Intercontinental Cup, SAFF Championship) this year. He is the 2022-23 AIFF Men’s Player of the Year Award Winner.
Today, Lallianzuala Chhangte is an indispensable player in the Indian and Mumbai City FC wing.
